Agree -- but they won't all be vampires. I prefer "lich" as the catch-all for powerful, mysterious undead myself.

What makes a creature a Gloranthan vampire? It is undead, it is sentient, it is probably quite powerful, it is probably associated with Darkness and Chaos, it is probably despised by the other elements (especially Fire), it probably drains magical energy from others, it probably drinks their blood, the last two may be connected, etc.

Brangbane is more of a ghoul isn't he? He takes meat at the same time as blood.  Also iirc ghouls are monsters associated with corpses (and eating corpses), but have they died and been reanimated? Some vampires' mastery of the Undead rune allows them to summon and/or control ghouls magically, but does this prove Ghouls are undead? (Subjectively it can if you want it to, but does this mean that anti-undead magic also affects ghouls?)

Delecti is a unique undying necromancer with an unusual backstory. Is he a vampire? He certainly has vampire henchmen (henchwomen?) Did Delecti create his own vampires, or did he gain control over some existing vampires?

Grachamagacan the Iron Vampire sounds interesting. What is his(?) story?

Howdy all -

As I see it, there's plenty of room for various Unliving individuals to have all sorts of powers and different limitations. Delecti has Unliving powers different from Brangbane who is different from Grachamagacan the Iron Vampire.
