I just don't think there would be that much variation from vampire to vampire in an "area". Sure Japanese and Romanians have different ideas about vampires but I suspect pretty much all the Japanese stories about them agree with each other and the same goes for the Romanians. It's only when you get to Joss Whedon and Charlaine Harris do you start getting weird abilties/origins popping up in vampires.
