Well, the player has never played in Glorantha at all (in fact, it's a whole campaign of Glorantha virgins), and I gave them a list of cults, and he jumped on Voriof and declared he wanted to be a shepherd. I'm still working with him to figure out what he's really thinking. I agree that Heler is probably a more dynamic cult, so maybe I'll just say that some Heleri are shepherds.

If people have scenarios or hero quests involving Voriof, I'm definitely interested in seeing them, assuming whoever has the right to them wishes to share them.

Again harkening back to the Hero Wars books Thunder Rebels and Storm Tribe, even where there are specialist gods, most Heortlings in a profession still worship Orlanth, because Orlanth did pretty much everything....including herding. In Thunder Rebels there was an Orlanth Allfather subcult associated with herding in general (not just sheep). Orlanth allfather, in HQ2 terms, would be people whose initiation was based on the mastery rune, so presumably he would have storme, MASTERY, and some variant on beast.

I'm not quite sure what the state of ownership of it is now, and if it is allowed to share it publicly. (I remember the essence of it from conversations with Jeff, but I don't have a final copy and I wouldn't want to cross any ownership lines)

He can use anything in a sheep : flesh, milk, wool, bones, sinews. He can control rams, help ewes deliver lambs, perhaps run as a sheep as a part of his magics. He can probably track and knows the tula very well. He has alynx to help him. He knows some fighting to protect his herd. He might even be quite well-off with a large herd of sheep, but his Flaw is easy : "overlooked by others" or simply "cottar".

It's not a very prestigious cults, in fact it's one of the humblest. Still, Voriof is part of HELER, the Major Water/Rain/Clouds God. Heler is also the Ram. Doesn't your player prefer to play that?
