I would find it interesting to see what emerged.
Strangely, I can envisage GURPS Glorantha far more readily than GURPS Hero Wars/HeroQuest.
Reverting to nitty-gritty nickel-and-dime RuneQuestisms would seem far more natural for GURPS than making the great leap forward into indistinct heroic narrative... but then again, what do I know?
