I was thinking more of situations like a Heortling warrior with a healer follower. It's automatic for any Heortling: do not let healers get injured! So she's in there trying to help him, and he's making sure he's between her and any incoming damage. End result is probably her dragging his unconscious body off the field. In fact, having followers of any type carrying their leader back to be healed up is a standard story cliche.

At present the way to do this is "ignore the rules": and while this is valid ("play the story, not the rules" IS a rule...), too much "ignore the rules" leaves you wondering why the rules are there in the first place.
