In a formal meeting, I imagine the chief would be using Dar Magic like crazy, with the Ring surrounding him, augmenting with their relevant abilities/magics. (Which could include Cattle Magic for the person in the Uralda seat.) The light of the community would glow around them as the people bend their hearts toward their leaders, and the person coming to the clan darned well better have some good magic or impressive abilities or he/she/it is going to get the short end of the stick (if they are allowed to keep the stick at all).
