I think it's somewhat more fun if they have a little knowledge of pagan worship, but only a little. "There is a nation to the east were benighted inhabitants are ruled by women who worship dirt. Further on, there is a nation were they worship the wind. To the northeast there is a huge nation were the ignorant pagans worship celestial bodies, especially the moon and the sun." For even more fun; "There are two nations to the east, one composed of dirt-worshiping women and one composed of wind-worshiping men. They believe that dirt is the wife of the wind. Once a year these shameless peoples meet at a great mountain and hold a vile and shameful festival of orgies to propogate their people."
