I like this interpretation in some ways, but I reject the idea of gradual change as unheroic! It may be that a simulationist view of Glorantha needs this sort of thing but I prefer to imagine that change in traditions happens under pressure, not as a matter of course over time.

It can be hard to change traditions gradually when it is following those traditions that actually support the strength of the community. (e.g. Guardian requirement: Do as your parents did).
