> I now find out that it is prohibitively expensive - with p&p at least
ukp50 (us$83). If I, as a life long fan baulk at the price, do you really
think any newbies are going to be interested?
I am no disinterested party here, and do not pretend to be. I am an insider, on the know, with just one old dog in the fight. May I share an insider's perspective?
Jeez, guys, say it's pricey and go on. This isn't for mass market, but for fans. Are you one? You have one vote: buy it or not.
Expensive? Are you working these days? I'm not, and I'll sell some stuff on ebay to buy my latest cool game even if it's $100. You a starving student these days? Hell, when I was one I bought fewer drugs to get the latest Ditko and Kirby. Can't you give up a couple of pints a night, or a couple of frappichinos or something?
Of course prices were looked at and thought about and finally determined. Decisions were made. There it is, a huge and magnificent monumental presentation in one place.
If you buy it then please come and comment on its content. But I ask that we be spared this price whinging. This book is a very, very good thing. We live in a world of ridiculous prices, crashing economies and falling bezants--carpe diem friends.
Let us enjoy!
Thank you.
