We've just played our next session…
The heroes were guilty as sin, but they were actually sort of ignorant to what they were doing. Not a good excuse, but the played it for all it was worth.
The ring was not in agreement as to what they needed to do. Some wanted to execute the one that had actually cast the spell (and confessed to doing so). Other meant they should not be blamed, but rather given the change to come clean and pay penance.
This took a few days, and our heroes managed a spectacular escape before. Let the hunt begin…
