Works for me. I tend to treat Cults of Terror / the Cult Compendium as a non-Gloranthan document but I like opening up questions of who in Glorantha could have compiled the original source texts. Paulis Longvale himself? And who are the readers who need to be soothed?
I agree the text here is unusually conflicted. While "most beings" make propitiatory worship and "most of them despise chaos," "all Gloranthan civilizations outlaw the worship of Malia." And then there's the metaphysical layer about the necessary janitor of the gods to whom every open wound is sacred.

Unusually complex speculation for what I used to think was just a witch tradition of the hill people.
