In my opinion, Nysalorean Illumination is a specialised version of 'Mystical Transcendance'. As the first time that this process or state became widely known in Central and Western Genertela, the name Illumination stuck. But there are other sources of Mystical Trancendance. In the Dragon Pass region alone, there are Old Wind Temple and (at least in the 2nd Age) the Dragonnewts and likely more. Every major pantheon likely has one or more mystery 'cults' that can show the way to this state.
