Sandy's various description on Glorathan afterlife, leading to IMHO an erroneous conclusion:

I believe that this is one of the most important differences between Earth AD and Glorantha ST - namely that most godworshippers in glorantha, like believers here-and-now, ***know*** what's going to happen to them! They are ***not*** worried. Committ a misdemeanor, priest absolves you (both realities).

Many peoples on Glorantha have spent much time contemplating religion (before time for most) and have come up with their view. It usually dosen't leave any room to change view nor disbelieve...

Also, you worship a "god". This being can manifest and do some pretty darn facny things - smite enemies, cure you etc. When this being says "don't worry, you're going to spend the rest of your time after your death with me having fun", how many are going to say: "Bullshit I am, I'll just go off into the ether and disappear". The only one who *may* get this far are the heroes who actually travel the planes and see how moudly (some of) the gods are. Your average grunt (Storm Bull or Uleria initiate :-) is going to very happily IMHO that god that that question is answered for them, and go off to find answers to the questions the god _has_ asked them...like why haven't you fleeced that dark troll, or how many new initiates have you recruited?

Of course, this dosen't mean they aren't afraid of death a bit, after all they may feel they have many other things to acomplish (like just about anything will do at this point) but they have no particular worries about an afterlife (for the most part).

Phew. Mouth opens, fingers type. Known as dribbling over the keyboard. Robert
