Right. It's the fault of the evil compuserve.com domain adopting a form of encoding called "quoted-printable". It's not necessary, and it's relatively non-standard, but compuserve really likes to do things their own way.

The way to get around it is indeed to keep your lines shorter (less than 72 should do it).
