Dead Illuminates and Teshnos

People seem to be puzzled at Sandy's contention that the Illuminates know that there is no afterlife for them after they die.

The simple truth is that the traditional gloranthan afterlife (reincarnation/Ty Kora Tek's Halls of Silence /Orlanth's Hall/Pamalt's Council) is a product of *glorantha* whereas the illuminate will not go to any of these places after his death simply because s/he has transcended glorantha. The Malkioni theories about Solace after death have a similar basis.

Exactly where the dead illuminates (run-of-the-mill illuminates as opposed to Lunar Saints and Heroes) end up is anyone's guess. The most popular theory among the lunars is a belief in the Healed Cosmos. Details on this are vague as the quickest way to get information on it is to ask the Crimson Bat...

Jane Williams applauds me for raging against the assumption of bigotted Solar anal-retentivism then notes that I contradict myself by seeming having a 4:1 bias against women in Teshnos.

Well I do... and I don't. Teshnos is biased against women but it is not a reactionary society IMO which was the assumption I was raging against. The cultural norms in Teshnos arise organically through ancient customs rather than codified laws imposed to filful some austere god's idea of perfection. A woman could work her way up through the cult hierarchy and end up at the top (depending on caste) with nary a murmer based on her sex (she will receive plenty of opposition based on what flame society she belongs to). IMO Teshnan society is such that most women just do not follow this path (just as much as a women could join Storm Bull in praxian society but rarely does).
