>(either version). There is more than one Ring in existence!

Umath does not have a Ring but a Camp. The Lightbringer's Ring has its origins in the myth of the First Ring. It is an _adaption_ of the First Ring. But the Lightbringer's Ring can and has been adapted for other purposes than the LBQ. For instance it can be found as the Clan Ring in some Clans.

I'm simply saying that in place of the LB ring, Kally used not the Traditional Ring but the myth of Umath's Companions. I don't see why the myth should be limited only to guarding campsites given that the First Ring and the Lightbringers Ring have proved themselves to be flexible.

>Umath's Ring might well be the origin of the Eternal Ring formed to

>But to actually be the LBQ Ring: no, it just doesn't make sense.

I did not say it was the LBQ ring, I am saying that it is capable of being used in place of the LBQ ring on the LBQ quest.

>What we need for this to work is a means of transforming a structure

IMO all Kallyr has to do is to use the Myth of the First Camp on the First Day of the SLBQ.
