27 years of Waning, then 27 years of Waxing. The "0 Wane", the life of the Goddess, was of course Pure Wax.

Some of us wonder what the cosmological, and possibly also, celestial, significance of the 27/54 year figure is. (It reminds me of the Deneron Council's 47 year period, though.)
