Some weeks ago, Joerg asked about who Delecti worships.
He proposed either Zorack Zoran or Gark instead of Vivamort
I think that Zorack Zoran can be eliminated from the list, since most of
the zombies created
by the cult are from dead members.
Gark is the god of zombie, but he is not the god of forcing undeath upon
the world.
He promises eternal freedom from worries such as death and pain.
So everyone who believes that and get initiated (ie make a link of his
soul
with Gark) becomes a zombie. Someone who refuses to become an initiate
is immune to that zombification.
IMO, it is what happened to Never Dead in Dorastor. The people were
fearful of Arkat and
made pacts with a god who could forever protect them against the ravages
of warfare.
They chose to worship Gark, and now everything that lived in the region
is a zombie.
Now, some people know the true nature of Gark and search to gain his
powers.
Since Gark became willingly an undead, he has a good understanding
of the phenomenon and can control almost all the undeads, but it is very
difficult
for Gark to make undeads from unwilling victims.
Those people become liches (zombie with free will?) and act as the
priesthood of
Gark.
They recruits initiates for the god of eternal peace, and they gain rune
magic
(mostly command undead spells) , each time they have made around 20
converts
per point of spell.
Vivamort, besides being the god of vampires, is the god of forcing
undeath to the world.
His vampire priests can transform almost anyone (with the proper ritual)
into an undead,
but they have difficulties to control their creations (especially the
intelligent ones
like ghouls or mummies)
Since these vampires have a direct link with Vivamort, to get Vivamorti
divine magic,
they sacrifice victims during ceremonies (around 1 soul per spell point)
We know that Delecti is able to make a huge number of zombies, but he
has difficulties
to control them since (in the boardgame) they are destroyed if the chain
between them and
Delecti is broken.
If he was a Gark worshiper, his zombies would not have to form a chain.
So I think that Delecti is a high level Vivamort worshiper, but maybe
not a vampire.
It is possible because he was a powerful EWF magician before he had to
choose undeath in order to avoid destruction (like Vivamort did during
the great darkness).
