Bison and Prax

They herd mostly bison. Any other beasts they have are herd beasts stolen from other tribes (sable, impala, herdhuman and high llama). They can steal cattle (Bos taurus) from the Pol Joni and the Sartarites but the cattle can't survive on the chaparral which limits the tribe's movement. So the cattle are the first beasts eaten.

Much of prax and the wastelands is covered by chaparral which is inedible to most beasts. But the Eiritha Beasts can live off the chaparral and thus roam over the plains.

For a RW example of seemingly arid land (to western eyes) supporting a wide diversity of life, there is the Serengeti in Africa.
