In a message dated 12/21/99 12:39:40PM, you write:

<< a theory posited by Nick that Casino
Town was founded to bankrupt visiting demigods into revealing  their secrets for the benefit of the God Learners, or in particular  the Zistorites.

Thus winning big in some card games could confer special powers...

This is a new one on me and I like it. I had previously thought of Casino Town as full of mechanical Zistorite machines like 'Penny Falls', one armed bandits, roulette wheels, as well as all sorts of fairground type creations
(test your strength, sharpshooting, etc etc.). There are plenty of examples
(if not plenty then several) in published scenarios where the PCs will get a
chance to gamble some ability, spell, POW, or magic item in return for something else. This makes Casino town an excellent version of that.

Is their a known date for the founding of Casino Town?
