If 99% of the world celebrates the new milleneum on 1/1/2000, then the point is moot, isn't it? Facts are largely immaterial when everyone decides they want to ignore them (witness: Elmal).

Well, you celebrate on 1/1/2001 and have a good time...don't even think about the fact with the various calendar adjustments and the imprecise measurements of the earth's revolution around the sun that your pedantic date is also the wrong one.
