Alternatively, the Sartarites who left Heortland were the non-malkionising ones whom the Pharaoh disliked; the ones who stayed behind were the malkionised ones whom the Pharaoh supported.

Agreed, they have become much *more* malkionised recently, since the Opening of the Oceans; this has resulted in an exposure to modern mainstream Malkioni notions (those of the Rokari sect) which they hadn't previously enjoyed.

So do I. Incidentally, these "more distant regions" include the lands nearest to Sartar.

Alternatively: Sartar, who showed the "Sartarites" how to build cities, came from the southern Hendreiki tribe of Heortland. I believe these southerners are better able to build cities, perhaps thanks in part to their partial "malkionisation", than the die-hard traditionalist self-exiled Quivini settlers of Dragon Pass.

Strictly speaking, it's pedantry. But it would be pedantic to point this out. :-)
