The subject of Trolls and Fire has come up again. Wasn't it suggested last time that some smiths of Gustbran/Gadblad retire to become the cooks at places like Thunderbreath Gobbleguts? Many forms of cookery use heat without direct flame plus it would be MFG to have singing chefs. =) The Thunderbreath menu from Trollpack indicates that Troll cuisine uses techniques like boiling, baking, roasting and deep-frying.

Also, geo-thermal heat sources, like hot springs, could be used by Trolls for cooking and even metal working.
