Don't take this the wrong way, Nick, but I never knew you to be at such a loss for words that you couldn't write 100...
Almost everyone in our group viewed it with some distaste -- before we used it. In fact, it's not nearly so hard as it seems (except perhaps for the terminally verbose back-story writers -- hi JR). And it works well and helps make the game unique. It's even subject to minimaxing! And for those who are terminally weird, we've had poems and sort of stream of consciousness. Besides, if you don't like it, you don't have to use it.

Jeff Comment:
We were a 'blind taste test' up here in Canada. I must admit that of the six players, 2 did not like it and opted for lists, two thought about it and came up with the 100 word essays and one fellow (Paul Rocchi) went and wrote a 102 word set of staves (Lawspeaker. SIGH!) much to everyone's pleasure (Its actually pretty good material)
Chris, as usual, was late and played a 'make it up as we go along'
But an interesting thing happened. By the time we played, all the 'list' players had built little stories for themselves for the next game...
I admit that I am *now* finding it rather catchy. For those of us who are not terribly knowlegeable of Glorantha or the setting, it serves as a good way to 'set up shop' with a character
