David Dunham comments on converting RQ3 characters
to Hero Wars with a simple "Don't".
I disagree.
Here are some things you can include in your 100 words very easily:
- Pick keywords for where your PC is from and their cult.
This can be as simply said as a Humakti from Sartar or a
Praxian Bison Rider who worships Storm Bull.
- If you have any stats below 9 or above 15 include statements
like strong or weak (STR), attractive or ugly (APP), smart or
stupid (INT), quick or clumsy (DEX), etc. Stats of 3 or 18+ may
warrant the inclusion of the word "very".
- Mention any skills you have mastery in that are not covered as
part of the main keyword packages.
- Include quick snippets on any cool magic items or similar.
There is no need to mention things like POW/MP storing
devices, etc. Do mention bound spirits/creatures and familiars.
- Mention significant events from their career.
- Mention any followers, enemies, and allies of importance.
- Mention any non-cult or cultural (exotic rune spell or similar)
abilities not covered in the standard keywords you've used.
- You are your GM will have to adjust individual ability ratings
through negotiation. Abilities that are usually rolled as
unopposed contests are easy. Lock picking at 75% is easy
to figure out (lockpick 15). Broadsword at 130% isn't quite as
easy because it is usually used in opposed contents and it
also needs to take into account your parry ability as well.
