Istanbul actually comes from the Greek road signs that said "To the City". In Ottoman times, the city never had a formal name but was referred in official documents as the "House of Happiness". The Victorians didn't think this very oriental and so improved it into the "Abode of Bliss".
ObGlorantha: The Abode of Bliss is mentioned in Glorantha Intro p221.
