A carl might give a companion a friendly clap on the shoulders... unless he is a Humakti. Humakti are all or nothing: their swords are sheathed, or wielded with deadly force. A normal Orlanthi would make it very clear that you were pushing your luck (by boasting, for example), before a starting a fight, and would be willing to stop once soon enough. A Humnakti might do nothing until he killed you.
