I think so, though now you have to squint a bit.

For example, if you look at the detailed deity runes, pretty much anyone fire related has the circle. So the God Learners could deduce that the core form was in fact the circle. Likewise for earth and square.

I think they do, and I think this has been restated since Hero Wars came out.

They might not use identical runes (note how Yelm is different to the Dara Happans and Heortlings), but the core form is the same.

As to whether this is due to diffusionism or access to core truths, I'll just say yes.
