If I am a disciple of Orlanth Thunderous, I can't learn magic from Orlanth Adventurous.

Some gods may have more than one aspect. You can learn from any of the other subcults of YOUR aspect. In the previous example, you could learn Yavor and Hedkoranth but not Starkval or Destor.
