Hummm!
We are still playing_a_game_here. I think that the players have a choice here when playing the game. That is the point isn't it? There are always going to be consequences to any action taken even if it is almost *correct* when compared to the myth in question.

Well, there may be many heroquests where the reward is pretty trivial to the very powerful. If you are likely to get Great Leap 10W as the prize, it's not too attractive if you already have a Movement affinity 15W3. Or a cool sword feat might not be worth the bother to a Death Sword with Strongblade affinity and cool sword feats out the wazoo. Of course, he might do the quest just to show Humakt's power or because it's a
"prerequisite" or another, harder quest, or just because Humakt (or the
hero whose route the Death Sword is following) did it. Remember, just because you don't get a cool power is no reason to do the quest. Someone has to make the barley grow, the rivers flow, and the Sun come up.

Mythical truth is always going to be hard to find no matter what level you are at, whether 4w7 or just 17! It is called 'Heroquesting' therefore it has to difficult, challenging and everything won has to be earned. The emphasis should be on choices that are made not on the abilities and the levels that they are at. To get closer to your god you act as your god would, not to be as powerful or as strong as your god. It is how you act, the selections you make along the way, would you do the same? Do you go take Eurmal with you (keeping an eye on him) or leave him to guard the stead? Have you got a different way? or have you just got it all wrong? Are you following the Orlanthi way or have you just got corrupted by Lunar Chaotic Way? It's all the fault of those 'dirt-eating, dog-loving, goat-keeping savages' over the next hill other there.
