Yes. During the Sacred time when (orlanthi) everyone participates in the Lightbringers quest, most of the particpants are the faceless followers/observers. If you want to go and get Sheng, Arkat or the Pharoh from the Underworld then you are going to have to play Orlanth's role (or maybe Harmast, playing Orlanth's role....).

Every time a female warrior proves her place in the warband, or the raiding party she ie re-enacting "Vinga joins the Thunderbrothers" on some level, even if none of the participants ever leave the "mundane" world at all. If she goes all the way to the God Plane and competes against Helemakt, Vanganth et al then she is probably proving herself worthy of being a Hero(ine) in her own right, and maybe even the incarnation of an "aspect" of Vinga...
