Previously a source of confusion.

AFAIK: Firstly you only bid on your turn, on the other turn your opponent bids (ie.e sets AP at stake).

There is a distinction between offensive edge == bidder's weapon - and defensive edge == defender's armor & shield. You use an edge of offensive edge - defensive edge when the bidder wins. This (bidder's offensive edge - non-bidder's defensive edge) is subtracted from the APs before multiplication. So in this case if Boomer's opponent was using his fist (i.e. ^0) and bids 9AP then, yes, 9-(9-0) = no effect, If he picks up a sword the difference is -6 so its (9-(9-6)) * 3 or 9AP. On Boomer's turn to bid it will be Boomer's offensive edge vs. his opponents defensive edge.

OK, i'm less usre on this bit without rule to hand, but...

If either lose when it is their bid (i.e. non-bidder wins), edges do not come int play when calculating losses/transfer.

Any clearer?
