In our case, by ignoring them completely. In RQ, you needed healing potions because of the mechanics of hit point loss. Without that mechanic, healing potions become much less useful.

I suggest recreating, rather than transferring. That is, don't try to determine what HW mechanic or mechanics correspond to RQ mechanics. Instead, try to use the HW mechanics to model the kind of story you are telling. For example, for an Orlanthi farmers' campaign, healing potions are probably unimportant, so simply don't bother. For a healers' campaign, the focus of an entire adventure might be the production and administration of a healing potion (perhaps the Chief is gravely injured), in which case 'getting' the healing potion would be a a series of contests culminating in an extended contest, using abilities like Find Healing Herbs, Alchemy, Summon Healing Daemon, Bedside Manner, etc. If you are simply thinking that rich characters should be able afford better medical care, you could just use Wealth as an augmentation to healing attempts.
