I am leaning towards Shintoi being thiestic. Although the Anmisim worship rules mention bargaining all the mechanics point to capturing spirits which does not seem appropriate. I have noted the spirit cult section.

Maybe after communal worship you move on to either mystcism or devotion based on sect.

Samurai Warriors I was aiming more towards manifiest mystics. I saw note somewhere Yambushi (temple warriors) integrating spirits.

I have been running it as a RQ\Land of Ninja so far but its not doing much for me at the minute. I have been watching Lone Wolf movies and hisorical epics such as Hidden fortress so I am rather mixed up at the minute.
