Its not so much that they 'stop working' but that the powers wear
off, the item disappears or is reclaimed by the jealous gods.
And one reason for that is... well.. where's the value of a heroquest
to get Vingkot's spear when you cna just raid the tomb of said enemy?
The 'timelimit' only applies if the powers are given to a wyter and a
community (and hence spread out). If its taken just for one's own use,
it seems to be a more permanent solution...
