They love to keep a part (harm, finger, head, else...) of their victims. Of course they do a "painfull cut ceremony".
They also make a terrific ceremony to imprison the spirit of the
victim in this body part.
This becomes a fetish with the suffering soul which permits the
tusk rider to use the victim's powers.
Victim point of view:
Eternal sufferings, eternally keep in the fetish, knowing that your
vicious slayer is using your magical ablilities to make always more
pain (or pain to your family). Hummm...
