Many Lunars do not worship Sedenya and other Lunar Gods - chief among them are Lunar Sorcerers, Jakaleel witches and so forth. The Lunar Way is a whole spectrum of beliefs rather than a mere pantheon of gods and goddesses. Becoming Lunarized is not a case of ZING! "hail the goddess" but an awareness of some truths. How far a Lunarized person wants to explore those truths is up to him. He could embrace whatever Lunar cult tickles his fancy _or_ he could remain within his traditional religion (Malkioni, Orlanthi, Praxian etc). Within the Lunar Empire, people are encourage to explore. Outside, it's considered some subversive tendency that people take cold showers to combat. It will still burst out like a freudian slip but it is usually not a hanging offence if it happens.

The concept is mystical consciousness. In Lunar philosophy, this is called gaining the Seventh Self (since they believe that ordinary human bodies are made of six selves). Illuminated is what Nysalor teaches although nowadays this is an incomplete mystical awareness and more of a blessing than a curse. Enlightenment and Liberated are also synonyms for mystical consciousness.
