'Naiad' is a generic term for aquatic nymphs, of which potameids (Anaxial p. 221) are the best known type. They're broadly similar to the Greek type, but we avoided using the term in AR because of the confusing similarity to 'niiad'. Indeed, I doubt many Gloranthans use the term at all, and its best to ignore it altogether.

A niiad, by contrast, is a big scary vaguely triolini-like being roughly on a par with the Altinae and Luatha in terms of magical power.
