I don't think that is what they did.
"Cleverly exploiting the similarities and differences in all that they found, [the God Learners] created grandiose devices or magical spells, they wove the four modes of magic into one etheric cloth of powers and energies which seemed to envelop the cosmos." Glorantha: Intro p32
So instead of having spells, powers, talents or feats, they either had a fusion of all four, or had developed a mindset that allowed them to use all four types of magic.
Greggly thinking was (note past tense, I don't know what he thinks at the mo) that when sorcerers heroquest, they use their powers of logic to forcibly reduce what they encounter into their logical components and gain spells from that. In HW terms, I suppose it'll be considered a false node creation which sounds GodLearnerish.
That's not the whole of the story of what they did however which really belongs in a discussion about advanced heroquesting.
