Here is where I would want to use the player's creativity. Instead of telling them "you could do this" you let them research....consider each of these, then figure out why it wouldn't work, then come up with something else entirely.

Which is just the sort of "other solution" that might work. OOO made a major change in how trolls in kethela organized and operated, if I understand properly. Imagine if an equivalent was 'birthed' in another of the troll areas, or if OOO is brought back but with a broader mandate somehow.

You did say you wanted it to be the heart of the campaign if you decide to pursue it, and this would seem to fit that perfectly.

Hmmm, I always had the impression that the LB quest brought back someone who had a fire connection somehow? (or else who was in a solar hell). Somehow a LIGHTbringers quest to bring back a force of darkness doesn't jibe with me either.

But the trolls may have an idea of a quest that would work....but OOO is held in some hell infused with Light (hey, the pharoah was no fool, he knew the trolls would want to get OOO back, so he'd make sure to put him somewhere the trolls couldn't go). So they need humans to do at least part of the quest eventually.

Hmmm, for that matter, I'd think it might take several quests, he may be scattered mythically.

Ditto!
