Hi Josh,

I see a few ways to run a Lunar HQ easily.

First, like many new religions, there are always claims to how it ties into the ancient past. You can see this in the Lunar connections to the Bat, Arachne Solara, etc. As far as the Lunars are concerned, the Red Goddess has "always" existed, and simply has gone through a cycle from empty (Red goddess who?) to full moon(Empire!) over the ages. So the Lunars certainly have several HQs based around the Goddess's ancient actions and deeds.

Second, her ascent, and the deeds of the 7 mothers are also "recent" but still incredible HQ opportunities. Their deeds are in fact, "more powerful" because they happened recently, and prove the power in the Lunar ways(as far as the lunar followers are concerned, anyway).

Finally, and linked into the first concept, you have the Lunars syncreticizing other religions as they go. "Oh look, see, your god was just a child of our Goddess, long ago, here's the myth to prove it!" As time passes on, eventually the two myth ideas become so intertwined that people think that its always been that way.

So, the questions that can't really be answered for everyone, but is interesting for groups to consider:

Is the Lunar way actually ancient, and simply forgotten for a while?

Or have the Lunars simply bogarded their way into other religions and laid claim to ancient ways they never had?

And if its the first, then following cycles, the Red Goddess must wane again at some point...what does that mean to you?

If its the second, then are the Lunars effectively "colonizing" the Hero Plane, and if so, what does that mean for the stability of the universe?

Fun stuff, and perfect for players to find out, answer, or change on their very own Heroquests.

Chris
