Pick up _Dragon Pass A Gazateer of Kerofinela_. That will set you up with the basics of Dragon Pass, and a good map & gazateer of the area.

Then, depending on how deep you want to get, I'd pick up, in the following order:

_Thunder Rebels_ (to get the basics of the Orlanthi Storm Barbarians; their History, Culture and religion)
_Barbarian Adventures_ is a book of adventures, but there is a lot of cultural information mixed in. This is the "normal life" of the Orlanthi. Nothing too outrageous. (you might want to swap BA with ST, below). _Storm Tribe_ ("fringe" Gods for people to worship. (Around 85% of all Orlanthi worship the gods detailed in Thunder Rebels, but more like 85% of player heroes worship one of these fringe gods)). _Orlanth is Dead_ takes the "normal" of Barbarrian Adventures and shows what "not normal" can be. This is really the start of the Hero Wars where everything will be turned topsy-turvy.
_King of Sartar_ takes a mythic look at the lands of & around Dragon Pass. Dense, contradictory, rambling, full of obscure references. Written from an "In Glorantha" viewpoint long after the events of the Hero Wars.

It is by my order and for the good of the state that the bearer of this has done what he has done.
