People on the Ship are there for their own reasons. it is one of those moments in Gloranthan history where many seperate peoples perform similar rituals - usually with un-foreseen results. It is similar to the creation of Nysalor. As to why they are there? Who knows? You can explore their treasons in your own game, or leave it as a mystery. Or there may be a [culture] specific version of the Ship-Rise in other Issaries publications...

Could be....

Because that's part of Kallyr's saga, not yours. (You *do* know that Kallyr is Argrath, right?)

He returns to Hendrikiland and is welcomed by his people. He later betrays the City of Wonders to Harrek, who destroys it utterly. He is killed the next year by a demon in Kitori-land.

Why did they do it? "He just needed killing". He was a lunar stooge and puppet. Since all humakti in Dragon Pass are represented by players (old joke) it was obviously a typical Hack&Slash adventure. Why did they need the sword? Magical resonances, mystical correspondances, cool name.

It is by my order and for the good of the state that the bearer of this has done what he has done.
