One could argue that there are African elements in Prax: zebra, impala, sable antelope, giraffe-like high llama, wildebeest like Bison, hyenas. But Pamaltela is really the place. Of course, Africa is a big place too, so the specific setting your thinking of might be found elsewhere as well.
