Nodes cannot be found with Symbolic Sight as they exist on the Spell Plane, not the Material World.

The answer to your question is yes as there are different difficulties for attuning Talismans and Grimoires at the same node.

That said, he would have to know the spells in order to attune a Talisman. He might have a page ripped from somebody's grimoire or he might persuade one of the Node denizens to teach him about the spell.

I think the issue of unclaimed nodes exist is similar to the question of whether a tree falling in a forest makes a sound if nobody is left to hear it. They are generally discovered through heroquesting but there is no consensus on whether they were always there or created by God (or the Heroquester) during the Heroquest.

Known nodes are claimed by somebody. If a node is controlled by a hostile order, then you still have the opportunity to learn a spell from it IMO. It basically passing the tests of the node guardians as to your suitability or deceiving them to the same.

Sometimes the Nodes will be shared among orders and churches. If so, then the node will be partitioned among the orders and each will have its own requirements for gaining access to the Node.
