Well, it is more that you use your "Member of the Woodpecker Clan 20" against "Big Bad Broo" at whatever the difficulty might be at the moment... from Very Easy to Nearly Impossible!

But, hey, maybe another character has got "Member of the Starfires Clan 16, Fyrdman +1" or "Tough as Nails 3W" or "Yinkin Rune Affinity 7W, Fight With Tooth & Claw +11" or "Chaospiercer Spear 19" or "Burly 18" augmented by "Quick as a Weasel 15" or "Orlmarthing 13, Shield & Spear Combat +1" or "Retainer: Bo the Bodyguard 1W" & would use that. Who knows?

Now, is the contest simple or extended? If it is extended, is it climatic or not? And what is your character trying to do? Knock the Broo down to the ground & flee or kill it? Questions, questions, questions... :o)
