On a smaller, less organized scale I would imagine that all sorts of competitions take place at tribal market days (just like state fairs!) with the biggest events of the year occuring at the Great Market.  

As a difference from the RW why not use a more Heortling number like every seven years in honour of the Lightbringers or every other year to honour Orlanth and Ernalda?

Well I do not want to take all the credit! I have been working on this olympics for Orlanthi Festival but I was going to use just some basic competitions like 'shield wall'. My main idea was to hold it every four years so that representatives for all the local tribes and clans met allowing my Heroes to mindle and meddle in tribal politics and intrigues. To top it all the Lunars involvement in allowing it to take place after it had been baned for so long from 1602. Now though I will use the Gods and aspects of the Storm Tribe to set the tasks for the hapless (helpless?) Heroes. ;-) CHEERS DARRAN SIMS.
