Truth be told, I know nowt about coinage. Tallies, tontines and land taxes (with or without Occasional Conformity bills tacked) -- that's more my cup of tea. Anyhow, the following may help (?!), and is taken from the as-yet-unpublished monograph,
"TEN WOONAR! QUACKY-QUACKY!" PIMPS, PUSHERS, PROSTITUTES AND
PREVERTS IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATION OF SARTAR
A NOTE TO IMPERIAL CITIZENS
In the Governorship-General of Sartar, the curious concept of barter
is still extant. An imperial (lunar) is typically valued at one
twentieth of a milk cow in the Sartarites' bovine economy
The early decision of the Anirestyu Corps to adopt goats as a form
of barter has proven unfortunate. Unlike Tarsh and Zarkos, most
barbarians in Dragon Pass view the goat as an unclean animal. At
even the most favourable rate of exchange, in Balmyr Tribal
Territory, there are a dozen goats to the milk cow (or eighteen to
the ox); while the rate of exchange is typically twenty-two goats to
the cow in Colymar Tribal Territory, and other Tribes refuse to
countenance the barter at all. Experience has shown that prostitutes
do not prefer payment in goat, and generally require payment in coin.
