But "Ultratraditionalist" is not the same as (the modern usage of) "UltraConservative". He follows the traditions of Orlanth, which includes all sorts of acceptance of foreigners (Fire, Water, Earth tribes, plus Others), Cunning (Orlanth Adventurous didn't always rely on brute force), etc.. Yes, Vingkot (B's primary god) can be a bit of a prude (dislikes both Trolls and Dara Happans), but still, the Orlanthi are, on the whole, pretty accepting people.

Trying to cast Broyan (or the Orlanthi) as more right-wing Ultraconservative than Rush Limbaugh is wrong.
