Prior to being subject to a text scanner, better known as Thanrax the Fair (Pavis Common Knowledge p.5, River of Cradles pp.6, 9).

He's not an obscure figure, unless you mean to play on that scanning error.

Sponsor ought to be a philosophical school or an Imperial Society of Explorers.
